Prisoner B-3087 by Alan Gratz is the first novel that I have ever read and still calls back to use during my writing. This is one of the best which is a ture story set in 1939 when twhen the nazi are invading poland. The protagonist is Yanek Gruener, a 20 year old boy who goes to 10 different concentration camps.

When the german were occupying poland he say many of his neighbor killed and turning against each other like the jewish police officer that were helping the nazi. The body of his neighbor was not found weeks later when the smell of rotting flesh started. Most of his family was killed during the 6 year of the nazi accupation.

As a young boy he does certain things that almost got himself killed in multiple situations. When he first went to a consitrtion camp he called his uncle who was theri but that was the nazi did niot like that at all. When they asked who said it in the line people were turning around which he also did. Because of that the kid behind hkm got beat for it. He also received whip lasses from a garud where he had to count to ten but because his german was bad he received 30 or more whip lasses. He saw the jewish officer that helped the nazi in a salt mine bleeding to death. The other prisoner recognized him and attacked him, cutting him in many places and placing salt in his wound. The ruthless ss guard moonface who would not  eat until he has killed one prisoner and enjoys beating the prisoner. His prisoner number is B-3087. This are just an example I the novel

This novel shows how kindness can get you killed and that caring for anyone else is curtain death in most scenarios. I love this book a lot and I recommend this to anyone who has not read it. And those who have agreed with me this is a good book. All his books are based on true stories and almost all of them are about disasters or tragedies.
